Ive got a fantastic home office in the garden, for exactly the same reason, when our little one came along I got kicked out the house.

I bought and had a summer house installed, then had it insulated, cladded, sky light installed, and fully wired (elect, tele, internet etc). Total cost was about 2.4k.

One tip, make sure you get a good heating source (and aircon for the summer).
