warmsure (eaga heat)

And mr (onlyfitidealboilers) your massive vocabulary and your ability to articulate is as good as warmsures first fix rate. lol

why are you getting yourself in a state over flipping warmsure or ideal for that matter. ideal are no better then warmsure or homeserve.

i know a lot of direct ideal engineers, an to be honest they wouldn't last two mins in a company like bg or eon, so dont make out there better than everyone because there not you twit.

I worked for Bg in the 90,s as a commercial engineer and ive got know problem with them.
They would not employ the misfits that work at warmsure and eaga .

And they still vet there engineers and managers to make sure there competent.

What im trying to get over is its so easy to say that a brand is crap and say ile never fit one of there boilers again but that is not a fair comment as ive said manufactures make good and bad boilers . yet surely a big factor is the aftercare they give and the competence of the engineer. in ideals case they made the mistake of contracting this to warmsure .However they now realise that was a big mistake and have there own engineers again ,there new boiler has good reviews .
I would have thought with a name you chose for this site, you would have agreed with the reasons i have explained but facts dont seem to matter to some people

I agree with what you are saying about Ideal. Accountants are bad engineers but the Logic seems fine.

You are also spot on with the EAGA stuff. They have started a 90 day consultation for a major redundancy clearout. Their days as a major player are numbered.

Glad to see there are engineers who can see the point im making cheers tamz.

In March 2011 there is to be announced a 90 day contract reapplication for all eaga and warmsure engineers.
Those who don't realise what that means are in for a rude awakening.
The Hull call centre is also being down sized and relocated .
But as you know where in the middle of the worst winter in decades so whats the best thing the acting MD can say (Your jobs are safe) .

your right about the logic just make sure its a 30 or 35 if its a combi .
What do you think to all these condensate probs ive seen correctly installed and insulated 1" to 1" 1/2 pipe freeze Bg have been advertising
condensate heaters .
Not sure i want to go that way though.

I carn't really comment on folk loseing there jobs, i just hope they dont.

The less back door merchants working for them selves the better.

I think the best thing ideal done was to create warmsure, because they had some crap direct engineers. at least now they can start a fresh, new boilers, new engineers. ;)

What i would like to see is engineers who dont just component swap.
But spend time diagnosing the problem, locating the fault and rectifying it these values are not passed on through a certificate at a training centre .
There best gained through yrs of being an apprentice and working alongside engineers who have often decades of experience to pass on .
The title engineer used to mean something when i was an apprentice .
Now theres only places like the isle of man in the uk that insist that your time served to be allowed to work on gas or water.

I understand theres a skill shortage but watering down the standard of engineers causes two things .1 poor qaulity of work and 2 poor pay !.Im not trying to put people out of work but surely newcomers to the industry should put in the time before being labeled engineers it would benefit them also as once out of there time they would be as valued, and companys like eaga would have to pay JIB rates to there staff not some backstabbing screw you im alright jack bonus that creates cowboys who service boilers in 10 mins
Qaulity rather than qauntity :D

As a Warmsure ( Carillion ) engineer I can tell you now that no engineers were layed off. Also, if I have my ACS for every domestic appliance in natural gas and LPG plus most commercial appliances and oil too does that that make me a misfit and not worthy to clean a BG engineers shoes. Come on guys, every company has its bad apples BG included. Let's be adult about it.

I worked for one of Carillion (who now own EAGA) as a subby and found them a good bunch to work for. Gas fitters for some reason just like bad mouthing each others work like no other trade do.

The gas training in this country is bonkers, what we've ended up with is 1000s of cowboys ACS holders, with little or no experience. 100s of cowboy training centres, that just want your money & to get you out the door ASAP. I & memebers of my staff have had ACS training in centres throughout Scotland & if these centres are anything like the rest of the UK, Gawd help us!!

As for the CC/CCC, I blame successive Governments. They permitted this system to be introduced - it's bonkers!!!
