A few days ago, I had - 'engine fault' , 'need to get repaired' flash up on screen. Nothing has flashed up in the last three days. Got oil and water etc checked at Halfords the power steering oil is low, everything else seems ok. Water colour was a bit dark but not low.

Want to get exact ower steering oil for my vehicle- Peugeot Expert 2013 2L was told to check my manual for the right oil but cant find the manual. How do I find it?

Should I take the warning a few days ago seriously?

Power steering faults don't usually show as an engine management light - they have their own dedicated steering wheel sign on the dash.
Any good motor factor will tell you which oil you need (this is important now, although it didn't used to be.....electric systems etc).
Your power steering fluid shouldn't drop at all, so maybe that's worth investigating.

If its running ok I would not be unduly concerned, its likely a one off. My engine fault light has come on a couple of times when turning the engine over on a low battery, not a direct engine fault but the dashboard lit up and audible warnings sounded as if it was an emergency landing.

Blup

If the 'check engine' has been triggered, a fault code will have been recorded, but it will not indicate when a code was recorded. Therefore the usual diagnostic process is to plug a code reader in, delete all old codes, run it and see if any new codes appear.

Code reader can be bought quite cheaply now, source a list of what each code number means and you can have a bit of a clue what might be wrong with it without guessing.

Ok. I must have previously put in a general power steering oil but wanted to put the right one in this time. A customer who was a mechanic was sure it was Dextron maybe 2 and put that in. I'll keep an eye on level.

Both yesterday and today been getting this flash up when start van up
