Hello, I have the following water damage to my wall. I think it may be from faulty guttering. Does it look like that may be the cause or something else? I live in a 2 story house. There is no apparent damage to the ceiling of the upstairs room or downstairs room, just this section of wall downstairs.

What's outside?
Why do you think it's guttering? What is your theory for how water got from guttering to that section of wall?

The guttering is leaking and I have no other ideas. I am open to other ideas, hence the post.

If the guttering is leaking then that's a good start.
Where in relation to anything else is the damp? What room? What wall? What height? What's visible in that location on the other side of the wall?

Re outside.
Spalling bricks. Vents. Brackets. Cable holes and so on.
Your not helping much
