Water from dehumidifier in windscreen wash tank

Put a bottle of vinegar in the washer bottle
Umm be careful with that, I did it with my VW in August and it's now developed a leak, I think from the washer fluid pump. Not sure if it's the vinegar that caused it but there must be a reason they only recommend washer fluid to be used...

Reading back my question, I may not have put it across very well. What I mean is, will diluting concentrated screen wash with dehumidifier water be of benefit? I wasn't meaning using this water on its own. I started using concentrated wash neat, but I'm worried it may cause damage to paintwork. Does anyone have any experience with ready to go wash, no mixing needed? Yhe stuff I'm using now is Holts professional concentrated, last lot was prestone, both have gone slimey.

I'd suggest using deionised water if you are suffering from slime build up and think it's the water element that's causing it

Doubt if water from dehumidifier will be "clean". I rarely get issues, but obviously water hardness must play a part. It's mostly Ford and Vauxhall systems that seem to suffer most for some reason in my area.

Clean out the tank, some will lift out. You may have resident sludge and slime mould. Maybe sterilise it afterwards then rinse out. Include the lid.

Refill with readimix or a winter strength mixture.

The reason I ask is BMW’s are notorious for this problem if you don’t use the oem screenwash.
Modern ones maybe, but my old E39 wash system has been problem free with aftermarket fluid (post #10) for the 5 years+ I've owned the car.
