To answer a few questions - the water comes via a spring into the property then direct to the cold water taps (through a fibre cartridge filter first), there is a tank in the loft but only to feed the hot water cylinder.
The boiler is an Ideal Logic 30 P converted for LPG, property in rural mid-Wales.
I bought a pressure testing hand pump from eBay and got it all up and running - for 30 mins anyway and now it keeps tripping the RCD - but that's a problem for another day now!
