Hi,

Bought a house with an awful bi fold front door. The plan long term is to replace with a new composite.

I’ve tried inserting weather strip into the door to try and reduce draughts / heat loss.

Wondered if there are any other tips out there for this case? Or is it just save up for a new door.

Thanks,
Aidy

Out of interest where is it draughty? Can you actually feel / hear the breeze coming through? It may be that you're simply feeling the coldness of eing next to such a large sheet of glass. If no physical air leaks then the large curtains you have got is the best bet.
We always had a curtain like that up at our doors in winter when growing up in the 70s. But that actually was draughts :)

It's perhaps not draughts, just feels generally cold in that area so you may be right. The door is quite loose when closed (i can engage / disengage the seals easily by just pulling the handle but i think that might just be the design of the door & its age.

I'll stick with the curtain and save for a new composite - they're just so expensive especially with the arched top light lol.

Thanks!
