Hi, I have just installed a new WC with a new straight pan connector which appears to be leaking a little from the pan side. The connector is pushed home as far as it will go but still a small drip. Should i use any kind of sealant on the joint?

First you need to be sure where the leak is coming from. Is the pan outlet circular? If badly cast it may not seal properly. You could use silicone sealant to rectify something like that, but I'd consider returning the WC.

Cheers Chris, Its a "wicks" jobby so no doubt its the pan. I will try silicone first to see if that does the trick.

I had a leaking pan connector on a new toilet I fitted earlier this year. I looked behind the rubber seal on the connector and there was a small chip of plastic missing and water was getting out there. I always check behind the seal now to make sure all is well.
