The car world "we buy any gold"

Thanks for replies,

I understand they will be trying to knock me down on price I would be doing the same in their shoes. What I was really wondering is if they are straight to deal with? Do they pay when they say they will?

I do not want to go to a lot of trouble describing the car as accurately as I can on their web site then arrive and have them start finding faults that don't exist and offering half what they quoted originally.

The missus traded her car in last year and tried 'webuyanycar' just to see what they would offer.

Her car was in pristine condtion with full service and low milage, they offered her just short of 3k for a car worth approx 5k

stay well away from them

Was that 5K off the price of a new car or selling it private?

it has been reported that even after you describe your car perfectly, when you actually go there they will lower there price, you take yer chance.

They will offer you trade price, less about 20% so they can cover their losses...no such thing as a free lunch with these folks.
John :)

You will always make more money selling your car privately because your selling to an end user, if you part x with a dealer or an internet company, their intention is to get their money back and a bit of profit to make it worth the effort and keep the company afloat. If you go in expecting to get top dollar, you can only get disappointed.

Tha car was valued by Parkers at between £4800 ish to almost £6000 in mint condition. If i can remember correctly she got £5400 ish for it private.

Judging by their TV advertising campaign they are obviously making lots of money, I wouldn't sell a car to them, I couldn't afford to, but there are obviously lots of people who can.

Peter

you're paying for an instant guaranteed sale, & quick payment, no advertising, no tyre kickers, ne'er to wells offering stupid money, no undesirables looking over your property when they view the car....

everything has a price and a cost... quite a high one with these guys

Hi everyone,

Thanks for replies.

Car now sold.

Sold it to a trader, not webuyanycar.com.

"stupids" has summed it up as far as we are concerned when he says

"no undesirables looking over your property when they are viewing the car"

I would not advertise anything which involves people calling at our house to view or purchase it. Just not worth the risk!

Pretty sad view of the world though, millions upon millions of second hand goods sold in that way every year no problem at all. Must have more money than sense to sell to a trader.
