Yes I know but dry lining is more cost affective

It is, till you have to go back and do it all again, you'll only be masking the problem, if you're happy with that and they are then its upto you.

Hmm not the road I wanted to go down. Need it done the correct way but also an affordable way. So in your opinion your saying that lime is the only material that can replace old lime plaster on an 9" wall? In order for the building to breath?
