Hello, the instructions for a ground auger I've bought recommend using "viper 2 cycle oil PN300400".
Seems that's sold in America so does anyone know what's compatible that I can get? Cheers

You can get 2 stroke oil in places that sell motor oil. A litre will last a long time.

Boy racers who think it will make them go faster like to buy the sooper expensive brands.

Check the recommended mixture. Too much will coke up the engine and make the plugs dirty.

It is a good idea to turn off the fuel tap and let the carb run dry at the end of the day, this avoids clogging with oil when the petrol evaporates.

Stihl, Husqvarna, Oregon et al all do single shot bottles.......one of their bottles to 5 litres of petrol.
Depends on how much you are going to use, I guess.
John :)

Does it put up any specs of the oil?

The oils I've recommended work at a pretty lean 50:1 ratio. However, they are recommended for chainsaws and you don't get many tools as hard worked as them!
Use with confidence. Stihl and Husky also do their own benzine free premix fuel which lasts longer than 5 years, £25 for 5 litres if you use very little.
Four stroke fuel is also available as well as the 2 stroke mix.

Does it specify mineral, semi synthetic, fully synthetic or anything.

With a lack of any spec required id be guessing its nothing special

Just get some premixed alkylate petrol - Aspen/Stihl/Husqvarna. Most good garden machinery shops should have it.

You might be disappointed by the auger - they really need to be hydraulic and mounted on a machine

Thanks for the help everyone. I heard back from the seller. As suggested on here he said most 2 stroke should be ok. A garden machinery one is even better. Hopefully Screwfix have one when I'm there next. Cheers

Ok thanks.
Re it's capability. If it's semi useful I'll be happy.

If you have to premix the fuel buy yourself a mixing bottle
I had to laugh at the ridiculousness of that - a specialist container for mixing a bit of two stroke up - and then calling it a "No Nonsense" product

£6 for an empty plastic container - would be a nonsense

Mine has a measuring cap.
there is nothing wrong in paying a lot of money for a nonsense product, nothing wrong with having little luxuries in our lives. And if a plastic container with a measuring cap is yours, then go for it - enjoy.
