You watched the Dune series on Sky Atlantic? Has it lived up to the hype of the trailers?

I ended up watching King of Thieves, as a (very) late night film, in bed last night. It's based on the Hatton Garden vault robbery, one of maybe three versions. I'd watched the other two, but this version eluded me, until yesterday evening.

I liked it , but I’m a fan of sci fi and read the Dune trilogy as a child.
Don’t have sky , just downloaded it .

I saw the trailer and considered subscribing to NOW! for three months but couldn't be bothered to find anything else after the Dune series finished after only six weeks...and read reviews where it went into more detail: set 10,000 years before the Arrakis saga and only concerned with the Bene Gesserit. I read the original trilogy and went one book beyond with 'God Emperor', but couldn't for the life of me get along with the son of Herbert's contributions - he's no Christopher Tolkien.

Besides: if the series is supposed to be set so far back in the past, how come the sets look so much like the Dune films? Surely a change of fashion would at least have cropped up during the era? Different technology, perhaps? No, not for me.

The sets are still in similar planet locations .

Rod Stewart at the BBC. He's just the best. The best concert I’ve been to was the last one of his tour in 2019, just before lockdown. Mrs Mottie took me for my birthday.
