What can i do after floor been levelled

Hi, I moved into a house that has had the floors all re-laid with levelling compound. I am at a loss as to what I can do with it. I tried using floor paint after sealing with pva on a small cupboard area just to test but it's chipping away easily. Apart from having carpet or laminate on it is there any way it can be sealed so I can either paint or lay self adhesive flooring planks flooring
