Having replaced my CH pump & replaced some partially blocked feed/vent pipework, I have noticed the CH header tank water getting very dark with a small amount of brownish scum. Is this indicative of anything undesirable?????
Presumably I am getting a better 'scrubbing' effect from the new pump actually getting some flow around the entire system. Otherwise, no nasty boiler noises, reassuringly hot rads, no rad cold spots, and no pump-over or leaks.
Previously, I attempted to solve the underlying problem (blocked pump vane inlet) by flushing the system with SuperFloc when the old pump was in place, and refilled with Fernox inhibitor. I plan to similarly re-flush & refill, but I would be grateful for any insight before I do so.
Cheers All.
