What colour silicone on bath waste

Is clear or white silicone best on bath wastes?

Thanks will be dow coning. Is it ok to not use the top washer and use silicone instead?

You can lose the bath side washer and just use silicone if you really wanted to, but why would you want to?

Agreed. Seems to be nowadays everything gets smeared with silicone.

You can lose the bath side washer and just use silicone if you really wanted to, but why would you want to?

As I find you can see the black washer which looks abit unsightly
