what could we tax next

It is real. The breadwinner usually leaves a wife and children that the taxpayer has to house and feed.
And, of course, none of them would have thought to take out insurance that pays off the mortgage, gives the family a lump sum, pension, yadyada. Come on Joe get real: not everyone who dies from smoking-related illness leaves the state to pick up the aftermath ffs.

One in nine hospital beds are taken as a direct result of smoking. Smoking kills around 120,000 in the UK every year. How many sick days do that lot take off over the year? how many lost working days?
I think you'll find that the tax revenue raised far exceeds the cost of treatment to the NHS. That's why the gobmint doesn't ban smoking outright, or make it the same as a class A drug, while at the same time pretending to be concerned about the health of the nation.

Bet you're a smoker. Bet it kills you.
No I'm not, in case you fling that one at me, just trying to redress the balance of your latest outburst

we could have a back tax on anybody wanting to to stay in the uk permanently, to cover all the people who have being paying tax from when they left school, so if your are 30 you owe 14 years back tax  me thinks that may change a few peoples idea of a freebee uk and stop other people moaning about free loaders  ;) could it be a vote winner
