What have you been doing today?

Checked out one of these today.....
Test ride on Friday!
John :)

My mate has a speed triple (*I think it’s a speed triple tiger sport). It was a special edition model (Dark), number 1 of 30 and when he picked it up, it was presented to him by Sir John Bloor. This one, parked behind my FJR. He had an R1 before that but prefers the Triumph as it’s much more rideable.

We were having a chicken curry for tea tonight so I did a batch cooking session earlier this morning - made a big one, 8 portions and froze 6 of 'em. Just like Spag Bol, they always taste better when they’ve been frozen and thawed out.

I have to accept that my two up continental touring days are over, but I started riding abroad in 1991 and have done two runs per year since.
Nothing too exotic, got as far as Yugoslavia and everywhere in between and had a real ball.
As the Triumph is only 750cc I don’t expect it to be a loony tool but I like the idea of less weight.
John :)

Yeah, I’ve given it touring on my own bike now, my FJR was a beast. Very fast but also very heavy. And very long! Fly ride for me nowdays. The three of them went to Corsica last year - 1000 miles just to get on the overnight ferry. And a 1,000 mile ride back. Killer! I flew out and hired a bike out there - I could feel their pain when I left them for a short flight home - I was indoors with my feet up while they still had 6 hours to wait for the ferry back to Marseilles. :sneaky: This year, Covid willing, we’re all booked on a fly/drive to Spain doing the Spanish cowboy tour. BMW 1250’s, satnav, routes and hotels included. I’ll be surprised if we go though.

A quick run through the tourers...
ST 1100 x 2
Blackbird x3 (my perfect bike)
ST 1300 (huge mistake)
VFR 1200
Beemer 1200 GS
VFR 800 (present).
Hope I get it right this time!
No foreign travel for us this year.....will maybe consider this time in 2021 but in no way am I going anywhere I have to mask all day
John :)

Yes we ventured into ASDA today to pick up some more Cotswold stones for the garden so did a little shopping with the granddaughter.
Before we walked in there was a member of staff asking people if they needed a mask but everyone had them on. Ony people without masks were the staff but they all had visors and gloves on.

Although there was a security guard sitting inside the door, no one was checking if masks being worn. No signs either. Which made it even more commendable that shoppers were towing the line. No one nicking anything either. :cautious:

Almost restores your faith in human nature.

That you noticed!

We shopped in Asda in Hamilton near Glasgow on a trip, some bottles of wine had tags on, when we left the alarms went off but no one batted an eyelid

As a teenager always dreamed of having either, a 650 Bonny or a 750 Norton Commando.
Sadly, for one reason or another, never even got a bike. :(

I have a 750 commando 1971 model  Tis in my spare room

Had 2 650 triumphs t110 and a thunderbird

Back in the day my folks ran a pub (in England) which had a good Glaswegian following, all from one family, and Bucky was always a good seller
