What have you been doing today?

It’s nice but at the same time sad when somebody leaves you something in their will. He must have thought a lot of you. Sorry for your loss. I was left a substantial sum of money when our neighbour died. It really choked me up when I received a letter from her solicitor about three months after she had gone. I found out later that she had also left her other neighbour the same amount. She was a very nice neighbour and we were always doing her little favours. We live at number 71 and the thing that always made Mrs Mottie laugh was when she would drop a note through the door asking me to call in when I was home to help her with some small job or another. She always signed it 'Marjorie 69 x'.

This fella worked with me for a while.
Cracking funny irish guy.
His brothers are all useless in diy, so I was not too surprised when i was told he'd left me the tools.
And the brother who came to the house today didn't even wanna look at what i was taking.
He said to him a screwdriver is something alien and very dangerous

Though I was going mad lately. Was sure I always had a decent pocket full of dog treats in my hiking trousers but whenever I put them on, there was always less in them than I thought. Mrs Mottie sussed it - the dog was sneaking off upstairs and helping herself! To confirm this, I set up my bird box camera in the bedroom and we waited until she ‘innocently' left the room and went upstairs. Caught red pawed in the act. A few stills from the movie clip. First one shows her helping herself and the second one is where she heard me creeping up the stairs. She came out on the landing and gave me a look as if to say "Oh hi. Fancy seeing you here!" as she casually slunk off downstairs.

Another bike ride with Mrs CB on her new bike, avoiding cattle grids, small floods, right turns, sheep, the fun we have

half the lobby is now boarded, got a tricky part to do next ... loads of electrics to think about ... and some to find.
The bathroom light switch appears to go nowhere .... but it certainly works - I must go straight back into the bathroom, then run up under the tiles ....

Busy day today. Put the bins out early and already been out and done the weekly shop for us and the MIL - I’ve even put it all away, most of it in the right places too! After lunch I’m taking Mrs Mottie to Basildon hospital for her NHS staff Covid vaccination and then on the way back, dropping the MIL's shopping off to her in Wickford. That’s the busiest I’ve been for ages - I might even have to forgo my afternoon nap. :cautious:

Got to brave the weather to pick up some bits from Screwfix, then drop a motor off at the rewinders, going to listen to pop master first with a hot cross bun & coffee
