What have you been doing today?

Went to visit a sheep farm owned by somebody in the family, couple of thousand sheep but they're away at the moment on a winter pasture down the road. He's got a couple of hundred cows for beef, and bringing on quite a few younguns. Met the bull, he was a big bugger.

Ask him if he would repeat those (utter BS) numbers to someone who 'knows' farming.

One of my regular haunts stopped serving Camden, as the landlord reckoned he'd have to flog it at over six quid a pint just to break even.

Clearly you're not that person.
Clearly to you maybe. If he has "couple of thousand sheep" & "couple of hundred cows for beef, and bringing on quite a few younguns" then that "somebody in the family" is the Duke of Cornwall.

If you are the ex Prince Andrew then I claim my £50.

Or maybe you clearly have no idea of just how BIG a herd of that size is.

Beer drinkers, pubs and breweries should from now on be Government-subsidised. They have paid enough into the coffers over the centuries.

I’m going to check it on a daily basis and get them out if I see no flow. Just got to make a pest of myself to get things done. Squeaky wheel gets the oil and all that.
Just been out and checked down the manhole again this morning - no flow from my house is reaching the manhole so phoned Thames Water up and reported the blockage before it backs up to my house. I can see that this is going to be a daily event from now on until the repair or replacement is carried out and I don’t think I’ll even need to bother checking the flow in future. It’s clear to me that water can flow through the blister but the first solid that reaches it can’t get through and then the blockage occurs. If it was just us, we could use our downstairs loo with the macerator but unfortunately we share the drain with a family of 5 who don’t have a macerator. To make matters worse, we are on a slight hill and their kitchen sink is a foot or two higher than ours so we cop the backflow first.

I'm going to demand a full survey of the drain to my house after the repair as the camera can't get past the major blister which is approximately in the middle of my neighbours patio. For all I know, there may be further damage between my house and the blockage.

Your post reminded me of this one from back in the day
theres sumthing a bit wrong with that...

first thing to teach kids is pull the plug and wash their hands...

maybe you could just p1ss in the sink...

and throw your dishes in aswell......save a fortune

you could probably have a runny dump in there aswell

just mash it down the plug hole with a fork.....

Been out supervising the Thames Water contractors. ;) They had already unblocked it before knocking on our door at 10.00. I think they cleared it with the camera - they said jetting something in that state could make things worse. They let me see the camera go right up to our house and back out again. They said it was in pretty bad shape - the camera kept going through laying water and there were plenty of bumps and blisters. Each time they pulled the camera out, it was preceded by mucho tissues and turds. They did it twice. Gave me some dye crystals to put down my toilet and it came through fine. They were only contractors - network engineer attending tomorrow and should authorise the repair. To be continued…….
