What have you been doing today?

More bodgery on our fencing. I'm itching to rip out the dodgy brick pillars and fit proper concrete gravel boards and posts, but can't afford it.

Repairing a wobbly brick pillar with metal plates followed by rendering.

After the rain, I’ve just been out the garden and relocated about 150 snails over the back fence. I noticed that there was a worm orgy going on too. They were at it hammer and tong all over the place. One couple even had a slug watching them. Slugging?

And it turns out that knighthoods also have their own hierarchy, in fact there are six different levels, I think, with each becoming more exotic. Starting with Knights Bachelor, then KBE and ending with Knights of the Garter.

The Knights/Ladies of the Garter had their annual procession today. There's a maximum at any one time of just 24. Here's John Major looking very dapper.

Meeting up with my kids and grandson for a Father’s Day dog walk in a moment. Not even 9.00 and I’ve already been over the allotment and harvested some of our home grown veg for them. Onions, Garlic, courgettes, radish's, new potatoes, mint and lettuce.

My baby robins fledged yesterday and I hadn’t seen them all day, I thought I’d cut the grass - keeping a watchful eye out just in case. Close escape! As I was getting near to a corner I saw a flutter, let go of the handle so that the engine shut down and the little bugger hopped up onto one of the wheels. He then fluttered even higher onto the top. Bloody youngsters - no sense of danger!
