What have you bought today?

Up in the loft with my fishing gear, I have a Coleman Primus cooker that runs on Coleman fluid or unleaded petrol. A bit like the old fashioned blow lamp where you pumped it up to get it going then the flame playing on a tube used to keep the pressure up. Used to use it a lot in winter when the gas canisters would freeze. Last time I looked at it about 5 years ago, the seals had perished on the pump bit. One of these:

Pretty sure I had some kind of toaster attachment for it too. I used to do some wicked fry-ups when we went night fishing. Practically a Full English!

Well, I dug it out, bought a new leather pump seal for three and a half quid, fitted it up, added petrol, pumped the pressure and hey presto, it works. So, that’s two I’ve got now. Just need to find a use for them!

Hot air ballooning? :ROFLMAO:
We took my FIL on a balloon flight for his 70th, also in the basket was a guy with his elderly mum, after we landed in a field the skipper said the Land Rover is on its way to pick us up, the lady piped up "I thought we would be going back in the balloon"

Bless her :)

Petrol? this is going to end in tears.
Nah. The clue's in the name - 'Coleman unleaded'. It’s a dual fuel stove. You can use expensive Coleman fluid or unleaded petrol. Very quick to boil water for a brew - 2.5kw of power. Perfectly safe to use and much better than gas, especially in cold temperatures. I used to do a lot of winter night fishing and gas used to freeze before the kettle had boiled.

I fancy getting an 11kw gas wok burner, can't really make a pukka stir fry with a normal hob you just can't get it hot enough.

When I replaced our gas hob a good few years ago, I got one with a wok burner. I only bought it because it fitted in the same hole that a four burner hob came out of. Didn’t really think I’d use it much but it gets plenty of use at least two or three times a week. I was clearing out the cupboard a while ago and I found an attachment for it - turns out it fits on the wok burner for when you use proper round bottomed woks instead of the flat bottomed ones. I think a round bottom wok may be on the cards!
