What is it with these blue lights?

What is going on with these blue (i'm guessing) super bright LED Christmas lights?? They first started appearing on the underside or on the bonnets of boy-racer's cars all over the place and now they're creeping in to the Christmas displays all over the area i live in.

I don't like them at all but what makes it worse is that every man and his dogs is using them so whereas previously the world has become awash with colourful lights at this time of year, now the world is turning blue, and because they are 'super-bright' you can see them for miles.

Does anyone actually like these lights? I personally hope its a craze that doesn't last long (don't LEDs last for years though? )

Its the flaming lorries that are the worst. Drove from Devon to Swindon, M5/M4 and back on Saturday afternoon/evening. We counted 31 lorries with huge great blue lights/Xmas trees/candle displays in their cab windows.

Several times thought it was the Old Bill/Ambulances.

Would never of happened in mine and Thermo's days!!!

As I slowly scrolled down the page the top of this gif came into view. At the bottom of my screen all I saw initially was this old boy's head bobbing back and forth.... I expecting to see two old duffer's going for it! Thankfully I was wrong!

Someone mentioned the blue LEDs reminding them of the old bill. I can see their point, but more frequently, a perfectly legal (but bothersome) creation makes me think the old bill is coming. HID headlights! So many times I've seen a bright blue flash on the horizon and thought it was the police.
