Oi oi! You drinking your coffee in your car/van? Does that mean you've just pinched that glass/non mug? :)

I usually pinch them but I'll give this one back. I'll remind the guy that real coffee come in a jar with Nescafé written on it, and it goes in a mug with milk. Non of this frothy stuff!!!

It's all a load of marketing boll0x. Coffee has been hyped up to hook gullible townies with too much money. They think that mincing down the street with a paper cup of ridiculously over priced coffee is the thing to do. But they're just sheeple, following everyone else. It's all been done before, when a large part of the population was hooked on ciggies and it was cool to always have one hanging out your gob. Now people whine that they can't survive without caffine instead of nicotine. Just swapped one drug for another.

Coffee is actually good for you. And caffine too is ok as long as don't have too much. Miles better than ciggies, you're comparing apples and oranges.

The only thing I don't like about all the coffee shops is the waste with the paper cups - which can't be recycled.

new fangled fads and fancies, only been going about 360 years.

Ciggies were a good enough addiction for the old plumbers. So not many of them left now. Unlikely that mugs of coffee will kill more than half of today's addicts, though.

Really? Starshmucks and Costly coffee been going 360 years, eh Johnny. As usual, you appear to be unable to grasp what is actually contained in someone's post. Just type a load of balls to backup the chip on your shoulder, eh John Boy?

Yes, fashionable, overpriced coffee shops go back about 360 years. The Two I's frothy coffee shop only about 65.

What a shame you can't read. Get your carer to tell you what my earlier link says.

Were they using paper cups, Johnny? Didn't you grasp what everyone else did, that I am talking about the modern, takeaway McDonaldisation of coffee? No, don't bother. Obviously I didn't spell it out slowly enough for you to grasp.

You're trying to make out that the paper cup is the defining characteristic of fashionable, overpriced coffee?

What nonsense. I don't know when the paper cup was invented, and I'm sure you don't either.

Samuel Pepys recorded in his diary on December 3rd 1663 that he had looked in at Will's and seen Dryden and “all the wits of the town” engaged in “very witty and pleasant discourse”.

(Will's coffee-house in Covent Garden. At this time there were 82 coffee houses recorded in London)
