What is wrong with the painting of this ceiling. Apparently there has been one coat of primer and three top coats applied? Is this normal?

Yes, as I have never seen this on any ceiling before. Is this something you have seen before and would you be happy with it. Why is the white stripes so prominent?

Was it tape and fill? How long has the paint been drying for?

Yes, it is a new build. The paint on this has been dry for over a week. The painter says this is normal and is only because we have large windows and that when curtains and down lights are fitted it won’t be as noticeable however I don’t see how that will make that much of a difference as all the ceilings in the house look like this?

Have other rooms got curtains?

And down lighters fitted?

Hi, the gyprock and plaster have been installed in the property for over a year and a half before painting as we had problems completing the build. No curtains or down lights fitted on any of the ceilings. Any ideas?
