Hi All,

Our bedroom wardrobe (fitted) backs on to an outside wall and one part of the wardrobe wall had black mould which I've now removed. I've installed a Dimplex 1ft 40W tubular heater at the bottom of the wardrobe. Is this sufficient to keep black mould at bay?

Cheers

40W is I think a bit small, but give it a try. If you get a bigger one you can add a thermostat so you save energy by not running it unnecessarily.

Do you ventilate your bedroom by opening the windows every morning after throwing back the covers?

How close is the nearest bathroom, and does it use a powerful extractor?

Insulate the wall behind the wardrobe. Actually, insulate the whole wall

Fit something like a vent axia tempra or similar heat recovering extractor and leave your internal doors open?

I should have added that the wardrobe affected is only around 600mm x 600mm x 2.1m tall. The Dimplex model does have a stat on it but is cranked up all the way currently.

For such a small wardrobe your little heater will probably make enough difference.
