What the hell are they going on about now.

What...So each individual has a carbon footprint.
Who measures that then? And what is the criteria?

Whats Your Carbon Footprint

Usually an 11.5, 12 if it's for trainers (why don't they come in half sizes?)

I make very little carbon dioxide, most of my stuff is electric: no emissions

(commence abuse now! )

But seriously, whilst we need to be responsible, and whilst electric stuff has a significant carbon footprint now, there is the possibility of it becoming zero CO2 emission in the future without direct consumer outlay.

Check it out ........Then :-
Beware the little rotund ex cabin buoy ... Training his house inspectors (no insurance providers have come forward yet, so guess we'll pay again), for ostensibly, the 'homesellers pack', to be in by June 2007 oooh I bet that comes into play seamlessly ... Yeah, seems like no one knew- again.

I think there is an element of a 'sweetener' here, they tend to do little of benefit to us generally.
Here's a thought, once the home Inspectors are active, seemingly on behalf of house buyers, Johnno is looking at having a carbon footprint for homes, owners may be taxed/fined for exceeding this, built into energy bills, pretty easy that, we have had our 5% VAT, perhaps as we consume outside our footprint the vat will increase up to the full rate.. New Labour's mean ways.

The inspectors will be insidiously gathering the required data ....
Note the possible £1000 fine for failing to recycle household waste ... Witness the extraction of dosh from the motorist with the old 'speed cams'.
Some may say the Govn has a proven blueprint of dosh extraction to follow... Make us all, if not real crims then environmental types..
Lay your money down folks, it is the way they think !
:D :D :D :D :D

and had there not been such a public outcry about it we would have had it working properly years ago, and not used up alternative sources so quickly!

I do not believe the public said anything.
The media and pressure lobbies may have been jumping up and down waving their arms about ..... the great Brit Public, never really consulted.

Watch the Pensions nonsense right now, Gordon plays the old 'New Lab' trick, a leak on his 'outlook' ref. pension reform.
Now he is sitting back to watch for media approval or not ... They will not put it on the line as they should .. let the people decide, they may be willing to fund the whole thing .. may they not??

I can't read kendors mind of course, but as I read it, he said there was an outcry that was public, not that the outcry was made by the public.

Remains a fact .. Kendor or no Kendor.

If he did not mean 'public' in the sense which I used.... Then he dam n well should have done. :D :D

Yeees, because there's no sun, wind or sea left now, is there....

Severn barrage, great idea, to harness that enormous tidal range for hydro-electricity purposes .. and provide an all weather road from Wales .. I mean, no one goes there, do they?? :D :D
When or if the plans should be dusted off, the cost will be too horrendous to contemplate.

those forms of producing energy are just not as viable as nuclear at this time.

That would appear to be an expression of your opinion, and devoid of any accompanying factual basis. You are entitled to this of course, as indeed I'm entitled to treat it with the derision it deserves, nay invites.
