Im fed up with having knackered wheelbarrows that fall apart. We generally use 120cu feet barrows, and up to now ive got ones from TP at around £50 a throw. They take a lot of punishment, and normally the welds end up falling apart and end up in a skip.

Anyone use any decent makes, or know of any that worth looking at?

Used to have the siteblazer wheelbarrow (heavy duty, 750 model I think) mainly for delivering concrete but to be fair I didn't use it everyday but does seems well made and clever design, not cheap though but could be a good investment, if you can't find the link I'll see if I can find the paperwork details later on

thanks masona. I have found these on the web and they do look good, pricey, but then they look like they should last. Just wondering if there were any other alternatives

We are paying the price for lightweight wheel barrows, i.e. they fall apart, flex and bend like billyho.

...don't make 'em like they used to, blah blah blah.....

im toying with the idea of just welding up some of the ones ive got with some extra re-inforcement. That will give me something to play with!

That's probably what someone has already done with the ones you've thrown away!

you aint seen the state of the ones we throw away!

anyway i canabalise them for all the bits and pieces

A retired builder i work for occasionally always tells me that hammerlin barrows are the best but i have never found anyone near me who sells them so haven't tried them. A company called moyfab here in northern ireland makes good ones but i'm sure they don't get as far as england.

we are, but then they get hardcore thrown in them, concrete, pug, mot, rock etc etc etc on a daily basis.

Just been playing with the welder, The Thermobarrow Mark1 has just been completed. I feel it may need a few adjustments and refinments (thats just my welding!) but its saved one from going in the skip for a while!

thanks muggles, but the capacity on them is too small. id ideally like to get the type they use in the usa, such as the ames ones, but no-one over here seems to do a decent 120 litre heavy duty one.
