…….and I have never ever understood how, in Princess Diana’s words that the third person in her marriage was, after her death, accepted, not only by the royal family, but by the British public. Perhaps DIYNOT members can enlighten me,
... by the British public....
if the queen wishes her sons wife to be. Queen consort than good for her
blimey I recall when thousands of people camped out in London to wail and weep in public over some one they never knew never met
the country came to a halt
old duffers got on coaches travelled hundreds of miles to camp out out side buck house
They wanted to cuddle her two boys
and than a 12 year old and 8 year old who’s mother had just died in dire circumstances were forced to parade in public behind there mothers coffin in front of thousands of out of control wailing hysterical fools
the entire caper was imo a total disgrace
Some of.
Which by that logic means that those who support an immigrant benefit scrounging family are right wing morons!Fair comment John, the tiny minority of lefty types will always be opposed to the Monarchy.
You're confusing "accept" with "don't care".…….and I have never ever understood how, in Princess Diana’s words that the third person in her marriage was, after her death, accepted, not only by the royal family, but by the British public. Perhaps DIYNOT members can enlighten me,

Prince Charles isn’t very popular he is bit of a stuffy bore, he will accelerate the decline of the Royal family.
There's a 86% chance of that happening and a 29% of it happening within a yearMy guess is Prince Charles will become king within 5 years

I don't believe in the institution called the royal family. Btw I'm not a lefty loony. Neither would I wish any of them any harm whatsoever. I find it interesting that, especially in the modern era, people remain keen to be reigned over by people who are in their gilded positions through nothing more than being born (or marrying) into a firm. Does the firm do some good work. Yes. Do some of the firm dedicate their life to their duties? Yes. Are they a positive overall for the UK in terms of global handshaking? Perhaps. However even taking all of that into account, I fundamentally disagree with the notion of having an unelected family at the head of the country, enjoying a very privileged lifestyle funded through joe public, served by people often on quite low salaries.
I don't name call those in favour of a royal family, we are all entitled to our opinion on matters such as this, no? So I find it interesting that people who aren't in favour are often referred to as nutters and/or left leaning weirdos.
