Why is my 45° skirting board not fitting?

This is really weird and not sure if this is solveable via an online forum, but have kind of come to the end of the road!
I am laying skirting board and have cut the corners to 45° using a proper pro-style angle saw device (Gärungssäge in German - not sure what they are called in English...!)
Anyway, the cutting went great but when I put them in place, they... don't fit.
Mathematically, this makes no sense. I have taken some photos and attached them. Can anyone see if I am doing something wrong?!
Thanks in advance, Rob

Either the corner is not 90, or your cutting is not 45 degrees, either way, the easy way to do an internal corner, is....

Cut one section end at 90, then use a fret saw, or similar, to cut a matching profile in the end of the second piece, after carefully marking it.

Usually, you would make the one with the 90 end, the longer one, and the one profiled to fit the short one, for ease of handling.

Your pictures don't show the board tight together. Either experiment with the mitre cut angle (corners are rarely 90 degrees, or use the coping saw method.

Blup

You aren’t holding the trim at the correct angle against the fence when cutting

I agree with the above. It looks like the timber wasn't sitting in the saw properly. When doing that kind of work, I use a tape measure and make pencil marks going up the fence (back face) and down on the base so that I can see that I am cutting the lengths constantly.

it looks to me like at least one was cut with face to the fence /table bed because off the massive discrepancy
or ones at 35 and the other is 45 because the saw is say 60 one end and 50 the other so visual distance used and 35 position looks virtually the same from the 50% as 45 from the 60

As above, thats Scotia trim not skirting board.
First off, have you checked that those corners actually are 90°- very rare that they are.
Second, you are much better off scribing internal corners
Third (very tricky with an angled trim like that) you have to make sure that the trim is in the correct position in the mitre block- a millimetre off will leave a massive gap somewhere
