Why is there no plan?

To help Ukranian refugees in the UK...

We have been trying to find out where we can offer our help since last wednesday, as we have space to spare to put up a small family...

Now we obviously realise there have to be checks as to those coming here, and obviously checks on who is offering accommodation...

But at every department we have contacted we have been told that 'it's all happened so quickly that we have no plan in place'!

WTF...

Crimea was 8 years ago, and our useless government still haven't worked out any rudimentary contingencies!

They seem to be doing quite well in the EU though, waving regulations within days...

Weren't we told that the UK free of the EU would be able to act 'dynamically' and 'without EU red tape'?

Sheer incompetence?

Or the fact that the UK is awash with dirty money and russian meddling in the UK political system?

Either way people are suffering due to the UK's approach!

Meanwhile the rest of Europe are accepting hundreds of thousands and most of the countries letting people in are far worse off economically than the UK...

What's your agenda?

He's right, though. Our response has been risable. We made promises to the Ukranian people which we have failed to keep - other countries have done far, far better. As a nation we should be ashamed of how little our government has done and how slowly they have acted.

As an example of "Global Britain", what about the three aid vehicles which were stuck at Dover docks for 2 days because HM Customs wouldn't clear them. Note it was UK customs (so HM Government), NOT French that were responsible. Apparently they need a form T1 to take humanityarian aid out of the UK - and that costs money (£75+ dependant on commercial invoice price)

EU countries have enacted (some for the first time) a clause in their foreign nationals acts...

Whereby individual protection is waived in favour of blanket protection for refugees fleeing a war zone also known as 'mass flight'...

Why can't the UK do that?

Probably because there is nothing of it's kind on the statute book since leaving the EU!

I spoke about this with Mrs Bod the other day. We couldn't put up a family but we would consider fostering or adopting a child...

We have been slow and we need to do more. BUT it would help if the left leaning crustys stop encouraging/protecting economic migrants and the deportation of foreign criminals and fake asylum seekers....

What ever your view is, we must all agree there is an upper limit to how many desperate people we can take. The fake and criminal migrants take up places good people need. And we as a nation need good people.

There is a plan: make it as difficult as possible so they give up and go elsewhere. That’s the plan.

Why the fork do you think people would travel many many miles, taking huge risk to end up on £6 a day and no chance of getting a job.

Oh come on Notch! We've all seen people genuinely fleeing for their life with little more than the clothes on their back. Do you think if they were airlifted to Italy, they'd then make their way across France and risk their lives crossing the channel in a dinghy?
