My understanding is that generally murder is a pre-planned killing of a specific person and manslaughter is not pre-planned and the victim has not been chosen specifically.

Simples, look up the definition of murder Vs manslaughter. Then imagine you were invited on jury service and that is what they and the jusde has to consider based on the evidence they see/hear/etc

Was you on the jury, I thought not.

I'm not happy with some prison sentencing a few I've not been happy with I've taken decisive action and complained as has others and we've got reviews on the sentencing.

Thanks

That's how I've always understood it.

Manslaughter alway seems a lesser crime for someone who's evil either way

I know we are not America. But going on this basis. George Floyd's death would be Manslaughter and not Murder. Or is it that American laws are different to the UK.

George Floyd would still be alive if he hadn't resisted arrest.

Or if the cop hadn't murdered him.

Lying flat on the ground gasping "I can't breathe" while handcuffed must have seemed very threatening to three heavily armed and trained cops

I'm sure Andy would have killed him if the opportunity arose.

Andy

Does resisting arrest come with a "police are the judge, jury and executioner" death sentence?

I resisted arrest once. Does that mean I should have died?

I got arrested wrongfully once. I never resisted

I think the law is wrong. Will Bobby Nethercott, get a lesser sentence because its Manslaughter and not Murder?

Should we let our emotions influence our justice system?

Should the readership of "The Sun" newspaper be able to define the sentence of a child murderer, or should we limit it to the "Guardianista"?
