Windows taskbar

Win 10 laptop.

Taskbar set to auto-hide.

When streaming videos in full-screen mode (nothing dodgy - iPlayer/ITV/C4) every now and then the taskbar pops up.

I've not touched the mouse, or the keyboard, or the trackpad, but every 10 minutes or so it unhides.

Any ideas where I could start looking for what's making it do it?

Look in your startup apps/services.
Found in Task Manager.

Disable some that you know you are not really using in the startup tab, then if it still does it look at the services tab.

Doing this can also help reduce the amount of RAM being used all the time.

Is the mouse on a mat?

Sometimes, if the mouse is on a rough surface it can trigger movement which then makes the taskbar appear back again. Clean the sensor at the back of the mouse or leave it unplugged and see if that is the culprit.

It's on a mat. Easy enough to switch off and see if the problem goes away.

Have you tried automatically hiding the taskbar in desktop mode before playing?
Take a look in 'Taskbar Settings'.

Is the problem fixed or does it still interfere with Corrie?

Dunno - I've given up watching it, possibly for good, because of their insane disconnection between their storylines and anything even vaguely resembling real life.

Yes, of course I know it is fictional, but even so it is supposed to be grounded in reality, it's supposed to have characters and situations which people can relate to in real life. It doesn’t, for example, have characters who can fly, or teleport themselves, or travel through time.

The recent episode where someone had taken people hostage was so utterly divorced from any form of truth as all the people writing, directing, and acting all know it, and as their audience all know it, that it beggared belief.

When a police officer reports that an escaped murderer is armed and holding people hostage, what does very much *NOT* happen is the local police turning up in a few patrol cars, armed with blue and white tape.

What happens is that the guys with the black body armour and the guns turn up.

The scriptwriters all personally know that, but they DGAS.
