get it right, (the sums you mention are indeed correct) but that cost is per day every day, for the remainder of the life of the system (not counting any increase in costs) since it is the cost for batteries alone. not the cost to purchase the kit.

and as you are dividing it to make it look a small figure, then please send me 5p a day, every day for the next 5 years please.

What you pay for them is not my point. My point is tha what ever you do pay, you will have to pay for the rest of the life of the alarm and you will obviously have to fit them too.

You dont do that with a wired alarm.

Breezer, I wasn't intending to mock you, just that £30-£50 every couple of years isn't that big a deal. And you didn't provide any figures to what the cost of in electricity is for a wired system ....may be small but its still powering the devices/charging batteries 24x7 and as I said the batteries still need changing every few years in the wired system, not far off the same cost.

I agree with you that there is an overhead in time and cost of a wireless alarm. It also has many advantages over the wired system, not least not having to wire it, and the cost involved in that (1 or 2 days at say £200 would pay for a lot of batteries !)
Another big advantage is having wireless keyfobs, smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, panic alarm etc, and being easy to add to.

And if you want you can take it with you if you move house !

generaly radio stuff costs more than wired stuff, but I will slightly agree.

cost of mains lecy to run main panel

most radio systems still have a main control panel, so do wired alarms so no agument there

batteries need changing in wired alarm - same cost

lets take the "el cheapo" option £2 each, you have 10 devices + £20 / year
5 years = £100

wired alarm new battery every 5 years £20 (£80 cheaper)

take radio alarm with you when you move (easy to add to, too)

so you advocate using blu tac to hold sensors up do you? (only kidding)
each secnor held in position by a couple of screws

funny,that , so are the wired sensors.

Leave the wires behind and take alarm with you, same as radio alarm.
Yes adding extra is easier with radio.
