Hi guys!

I have a standard pendant with 20W CFL in bedroom. It is switched via a one way switch near the door.

I would like to have two wireless switching points, both operating the existing ceiling fitting.

I've looked at GET (RF!!!) and their prices are quite steep.

I'll take the shudders of derision in my stride, but has anybody used Byron's Home Easy system?

If so, I could do with some pointers, please.

Thanks!

I take it an HE304 receiver is connected to the light to be controlled.

Then switches can be added.

Can two switches be linked to one receiver?

Can the receiver be flush-mounted into the ceiling void?? Cannot find dimensions anywhere...

Not sure about the other makes but I've used the MK system the other poster mentions, using the small load reciever (rather than the 10A reciever), its just a small pastic module, perhaps similar in size to say a 5-way piece of 30A connector block. I was intending to fit it in the base of the light, but it was one of those square base things with 4 GU10 spots mounted on it and there wasn't enough clearnace (and I guess being encased on all but one side by metal wouldn't have done much for the signal!), so I ended up cutting a single dryline box into the ceiling behind the light and fitting it in there. Hopefully that answers your question and helps you to figure out where you might mount it :)

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I've looked up prices for the MK and it is prohibitive, even with a decent discount from WF.

I shall look up some Byron stuff and see what it's like. I'm sure it's not a patch on MK, but then neither are the prices...

No, but if it's anything like their wireless doorbells, keep well away.

Seen several of those where the doorbell went off:
a. apparently randomly at all times of the day and night
b. when a neighbours car doors were locked / unlocked using a keyfob
c. about 1 in 4 presses of the outside button
d. correctly but only for 1 day, then it was time for new batteries

All have been replaced with proper wired doorbells.
