Wiring a non timed extractor back to timed

We used to have a typical timed cutout bathroom extractor fan but had it changed to non timed (the timer functions kept breaking so it wouldn't switch off). So now the switch on the wall now has two switches on the wall plate , one for the light and another fused switch for the fan.
I'm looking to change the fan to a Manrose timed inline fan and hoping that I can use the existing wires to hook up just to the light switch so the fan comes on when the light switch is activated.
Do you think this will be possible?

Yes, however (there is always a "but") this depends upon how it is wired.
Do you have the original wiring going to the non timed fan?

This should have:
Permanent Live
Switched Live
Neutral
Earth. (Not needed by the fan but always in the cable so usually just put to a spare terminal).

It all depends what's been done at the switch and from there to the fan?
Good quality photo's of what's behind the switch and in the fan would help others to let you know more.

I'm 99% sure he did not run another wire down so it will have the original wiring. I'll take some photos of the fan wiring and the switches tomorrow. I guess if I have the switched live available on the switch there must be a capped off wire near the fan in the loft?
