So we had some electricians in to wire up our lighting in the lounge. Originally there were wall lights and 2 pendants which were powered from 1 double switch.
I recall the electricians saying something about both pendants having a mains feed.
We got the sparks to remove the 2 pendants and replace it with a single, and then remove the wall lights and install downlights. These would both be controlled from a double dimmer in the same location as the original switch.
I've come to adjust the dimmers today, and the damn wires snapped off inside the dimmer units!. Now from what I can recall, they were wired up like so with the coms being linked together.
Pendant
L2 -> N/A
Coms -> Brown Link
L1 -> Live
Spots
L2 -> Live
Coms -> Brown Link
L1 -> Live (Black wire with red sleeve)
I've rewired it as above, but I can't seem to get any of the lights to work at all. Is anyone able to advise what I might be doing wrong? I'm sure the pendant is wired up as it was done by the sparks. As it came off, im 99.99% this is how it came off with the 2 loose wires coming out in position:
