Wiring in new switch and ceiling rose

Hi all

Id like to install 1 or 2 new ceiling rose lights in the garage, off a new switch.

In my garage I have a double socket at one end and would like to place next to it a switch, which Id like to connect to a new ceiling rose.

Can I just wire the switch directly to the double socket, and loop the 2 new roses off the switch?

Just wondering why is an FCU better than a normal switch in this instance?
