Wood veneers

I am trying to refurbish a 1960's kitchen with odd sized cupboard doors. The casings are in good condition but I am unable to find wood veneered doors of the correct size. I recall that it used to be possible to purchase laminate sheeting but it does not seem to be available in today's DIY stores.
Can anyone tell me where I might buy say, two 8' x 4' wood veneer sheets - prefer Birch, beech or similar finish.
Midlands area would be perfect.
