Dear all,
I'm hoping someone can offer me some advice .
I have a Worcester heatslave 15/19 oil boiler . Three weeks ago we had our external oil tank replaced due to the previous one having cracks.
The new install all went fine and the boiler worked as usual for several days until it locked out. I guessed air was in the line so I loosened the larger "p" screw on the oil pump , no oil came out unless I turned the boiler on and pressed the restart button. Once I'd done that oil spurted through and the boiler woul run for a day or two until it would lock out again so I repeated the process several times however the problem returned each time after 1-4 days.
Today I decided to check the filter next to the external oil tank which all seemed pretty clean. I then checked the filter on the pump in the boiler and again it all seemed pretty clean.
I decided to undo the oil supply to the pump to run it through to make sure the flow was good and clean.
My question is when I turn the oil valve back on inside the boiler should the oil spurt out the hose or would it be a constant bit low pressure trickle ( when I open the bleed valve no oil comes out unless the pump is going)?
The hose and boiler are probably a foot higher than the external oil pipe which also goes in via the fire valve just outside the house.
I could just be being paranoid and need to keep on bleeding the pump every few days.
Nothing else on the boiler has been touched apart from the window sensor which appears to be clean and seated correctly in the housing.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Oliver
