Working boiler getting replaced can it be used for spares

I've moved into a property and will be moving to a combi boiler from a standard boiler (Worcester Greenstar RI). The boiler is working fine and wondered could I get any value from the existing one as spares. Are there companies who will buy my existing boiler and refurb the parts for spares?

Got to ask - why moving to a combi - sounds like you had a system boiler and a HW cylinder? More than one bathroom?

At risk of being hammered by those in the secret board, you could do what I did and have two boilers running side by side (not at the same time and valved off) so that when the new one breaks in the middle of winter, you don't have to wait a week or more to get it fixed.

1 bathroom at the moment although likely to increase in the future (more likely to another shower room) . Cylinder is small and takes ages to heat water. Was planning to move to a Worcester 4000 30.
