Hi, looking for some advice about how my builders have done the floor in my garage conversion as it doesn’t seem right to me.
Concrete original garage floor. They painted on a few coats of damp proof as regs. Used sand to level then laid Celotex on top then tongue and grove chipboard over that.
The problem I have is the sand they have used is damp. The stuff you get in bags from the merchant for mortar etc.
It’s all solid enough but I’m worried trapped between the damp proofing and Celotex is wet sand which will make the room smell over time.
They don’t seem to see any problem. Am I being mental? Obviously were not talking gallons of water but I always thought any damp is bad if it has nowhere to go.
Really appreciate advice.
