Wrongful convictions

Yes I liked the sound of that as well. I sometimes think that the police go for the easy option when looking for a perpetrator to prosecute, and I feel that there should be more procedures in place to prevent this. I think it's a bit sad that whenever you hear of a conviction being overturned you often hear about the case being re-opened but you rarely hear about the officers involved in the original conviction being investigated.

Hm. I wouldn't expect to see all of the dirty washing being exposed to the public, in the interests of preventing too much erosion of confidence in the police in general - I reckon that a lot of disciplining goes in without too much external knowledge.

Thermo would know...

.

Good point, I hope you're right but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Moz, this guy wasn't Chris Rock, but that routine cracks me up too...I saw him in Boston couple of years ago...he's great live

Hermes, heard about the China prisoner 'organ harvesting' too....very sad when there's a vested interest for the state to actually condemn people to death.....the world's a sick place sometimes.

Softus, this does look like a much needed organisation to have over here.

In a way we all already do - I rely on the police to protect me and my family when I need them.
