Yay, I love global warming

I quite like rain.

Unless, of course, I have just finished pointing my patio flag stones.

In fact, that's one of the many things I really like about this country: the rain. It makes the lovely flowers grow, it fills up the reservoirs (at least until the sun shines again) to say nothing of my fish pond, it saves washing my car, and it gives me the chance to show off my nice umbrella with the whangee handle.
(This paragraph specially composed for Nosey.)

Isn't that a pointless exercise ? Should you not take a more flexible stance ?

A more flexible stance? Not sure what you mean.

Perhaps if I stand in a camp fashion with one hand on my hip and the other waving coyly?

And..................................rain is the main ingredient of beer!

P.S. No one takes any notice of the rubbish that Nosef.all writes on here. ;)

"noseall thanked 1000+ times" Some people do.

Oh, I guess you are referring to the Generally Disgusting section where one sided stories are put forth and where the Klan get all flustered when someone presents an argument from a differing point of view.

Give yerself a pat on the back ****espit.

No difference , can't have one without other. Cause , certainly human influence would make no difference whatsoever. Weather records go from a micro time period in the Earth life. Geology proves conclusively that this planet has been thru many climate changes . The Earth on it's wobbly axis where the magnetic poles can move combined with a Sun that can dish out varying amounts of energy can all be plausible. Those who promote humans for this so called 'warming up' are easy meat for the money makers behind this phooey

No CO2 does cause warming, it is accepted as almost fact that it could cause another 1-2 degrees warming.

The questionable bit comes with all the more severe predictions based upon secondary factors, no ones going to worry about 1-2 degrees.

The moon shifts about 100mm away from earth every year.
So in about 1 billion years from now an average year will be 6 months of roasting daylight and 6 months of freezing darkness.
Man will be gone!

At least unevolved creatures such as you might still be about. ;)

This leaf business came about from building lighter trains, makes sense for energy efficiency, but the old clunkers would roll straight over leaf matter.
Solve one problem, create another one

a bit more to it really
until the mid 60s there was steam engines that made sure there was little growth near the tracks
there was also the track gangs that would keep vegetation and trees well back from the trackside
then as the years move on self seeded trees would grow unchecked and spread nearer to the track
eventually and by mid 80s leaves on the line was a reality but still not as bad as the braking system off the trains was cast iron brake blocks rubbing on the same surface that touches the rails so cleaning off all but the worst contaminations
move on a few years and virtually all trains have disc brakes meaning the wheels get a buildup off leaf mulch unchecked onto the wheels

now there are water cannon and sandite trains that blast the rails clean then apply a paste with grit/sand/metal particles

trains them selves sometimes have sandboxes giving out sand in a stream to help starting
also when starting the electronics will allow a wheel to part spin [part rotation]to clean it a bit before reducing power and reapplying power

also if the wheels start to"pick up" when braking it will release the brakes on that axle allowing a part rotation again to condition the wheels before reapplying the brakes

utter rot. we make no difference. The Sun is the biggest factor. Did you know one eruption from Krakatoa put out more co2 than all the humans in history. Further, the Santorini blast made that look tiny. With all the eruptions worldwide each year do we make a difference ? Those who want us to buy hybrid cars ,solar panels and any product associated with global warming that prey on peoples worries. Also one day our oil based economy will cease and weaning soft minds out of thinking a car is a automatic item is essential now.

People who take the thanks count too seriously are, in my opinion, usually narcissists on some kind of vanity trip.

But, at the risk of pandering to your vanity, lets look at the figures. Your thanks count is approx. 5 per cent of your total of posts. Mine is approx. 9 per cent.

So, to use your measure of taking notice of people's posts, people take almost twice as much notice of my posts as they do yours. Of course, this is completely meaningless nonsense, but I use this yardstick as it is obviously how you judge the quality of people's input on here.

Also, if you find that you have problems with people conflicting with what you write and the majority take an opposing view to you - is GD really the forum for you? You do seem to complain a lot about other posters on here. Is it them or you?

Please resist the temptation to thank me for these revelations. It's really not a big deal.

I said give herself a pat on the back not an ego massage!

Those averages would only work if the thanks button had been here from the start and noseall didnt have nearly 2 yrs worth of posting before you joined.
