There has been some talk of a re alignment of FATAH. Including HAMAS poli's - pass. US seem to just mention the PA and approve of the single person change in that group. He's been regarded as a book keeper. ie Look after the financing.
Interestingly an older ex security Isreali reckons they have the ideal person in jail who really does believe in 2 states. An Israeli that AlJ sometime interview. He's the one that recognised HAMAS's trap. Loosing the war of words. He feels Israel has fallen for it hook line and sinker and the current gov doesn't help. Just makes it worse.

The area mentioned in the Hamas Charter covers the whole of Israel and Palestine, it state it's aim to liberate Palestine and confront the Zionists.
The language may have softened from the original charter but the intention is still clear.

Israel have withdrawn a lot of troops. What's left appears to be tidying up eg el Shifa as HAMAS was still about. There are some oddities about that attack but little came out. Just a bit when it started and what was left in the end.
So one view is that Rafar gets attacked there will be more mobilisation. The US view on an attack there is mixed. Fine if the civilians are not harmed "too much" against where can they go if evacuated from the deputy president. The talks appear to be going on at the moment.
Things appear to be quietening down from the Israeli side. More aid is getting in but distribution to where it is badly needed is still a problem even on the few occasions where it gets to the north.
If HAMAS accepts a ceasefire it will. Maybe you have forgotten that they have done that. The final solution might not be agreeable to them though but then none of us really know what that is. There are also the other groups. Maybe the ceasefire worked as no IDF to shoot at.

Yes - politics has to be flexible. In this particular area there is no way they could achieve the objective you outline.
Glad to see you have demonstrated that Andy's assertion is not true.
The WHO have called for an immediate ceasefire. As with all it also calls for the release of all hostages. HAMAS as an untrusting lot want staged releases. The fighting is probably killing hostages from time to time as they have been kept in all sorts of places.
I wouldn't object to everyone getting old before they die.

Dam. Qatar made some announcements but missed most of it and some comments might be from Spain who have decided to recognise the state of Palestine within a month or two. No shift in negotiating positions since Jan figured in the comments. Qatar now is calling for an immediate ceasefire. el Shifa figures in that relating to destruction and setting on fire etc.
The aid brits killed were all ex military from a group based in the UK that specialise in this sort of thing using ex military people. One killed was ex sbs. Net effect 440tonnes of aid going back to Cyprus.
The same sort of weapon was being used ~13 years ago for similar purposes.
Filly might like to note that the number of aid workers killed has been upped to just short of 200. There are number of agencies involved including one from France that experienced the same problem as the above Brits. Each time Israel is asked for an explanation. This doesn't seem to achieve anything.
One case cropped up a while ago. 4 Brit doctors who survived with a but. Israel knew where they were.They organisation have repeated asked Israel for an explanation and have received 6 different answers.

The Americans are trying to avoid a genocide rolling on to tv screens across the nation in real time.
Total destruction of Hamas is a chimera that'll vanish once the dust settles and the next generation rebuilds the Gaza Strip - then picks up a rifle or a rocket launcher to start all over again. The damage is estimated at $18.5 billion - so far...and there's still no end in sight.
Netanyahu's determination to bring down Hamas will only end up with his political demise.
