Who do we believe - Nosenout our resident part time builder or Tom Jones, phD, Astronaut and NASA veteran.
Nosenout is amazing, on the one hand he is sorting out the Ukraine war as a military advisor and the next he is telling us all with confidence there is no proof of aliens and is advising NASA. What a guy. He is very down to earth as he also swears a lot.

Still don't know where the 50,000, or 30,000 - 100,000 years comes from. Based on the fastest man-made object it's less than 15,000 years. to Proxima B.

Was that the Coke bottle caper?
Nah they never had coke bottles

Apparently they chose me because they concluded , rightly so , that I was clued up and intelligent ;)

They did look at abducting some one from Staffs
But every one they considered was not up to snuff mentally :giggle:

I really dont think we are alone though.

Too much 'evidence' pointing to that.

But, your evidence needs are probably a lot different to me and others who are interested in the subject.
I'm fascinated by the topic but I try not to substitute hope for reason.

But again, this is why my mind is open and yours is not. There is nothing anyone could do to persuade you otherwise, while I can be convinced.

Voyager would take 75,000 years. The parker solar probe is technically faster but only at the bottom of the gravity well. It doesn't even make escape velocity. Anything that hasn't reached solar escape velocity doesn't really count for achieved speed imo.

But Alpha Centuri is not believed to have any habitable candidate planets, you've got to go further for that.
