Yes, I get that part and that is why I was suggesting this:

I am proposing that I pack the stud to achieve the difference in height as the current stud work is level.

UPDATE: been working on this and wanted to share progress. I’d appreciate your constructive criticism please.

I measured the wall plate angle for the joist using this and transferred to my chop saw.



I’ve dry fitted some joists at 350mm centres and only temporarily fixed at the wall plate.



I’m going to cut the ends once finished…

Returning to the top, I am using my level as a straight edge and to check if any joists need to be raised on the stud wall.






As an example I can see that this has a slight gap, I was planning to pack this where it meets the stud wall.



The fall is also flowing through the joists



I plan to carry on in the same manner and expect gaps to emerge as I move further down the 6m length towards the narrower end.

I have some questions please:
- what can I use for the packing? Frame packers, plywood?
- should the joists be screwed at this angle and how can I get a more flush finish as it’s difficult to push the joist on whilst screwing



- for the front of the joist, I was planning to screw from the underside of the header stud. Is that advisable?

Just go and buy a pack of frame packers from Screwfix or wherever. I would counter drill a hole through the top of your rafter then screw down into the wall plate, much easier to drive the screw in.

Perfect. Am I okay to screw the front of the joist from underneath? Through the header stud.

If you want but you'll find it easier going from the top down rather than upwards.
