Yes, it should be 'suitable', but, at least in my opinion, not very nice stuff to work with - stiffer than the equivalent size of SWA.

I can't really tell you. For the reason I described, it is many years since I used "Hi-Tuf". I assumed that it was still the same, but maybe it's changed in the meantime.

Whatever it was, it was what TLC sold at the time.

Exactly the same here. Mine was also whatever TLC sold as "Hi-Tuf" at the time (I suspect around 20 years ago), and I, too, resolved "never again"!

Yeah, I was just using the proper name!

Yes, don't forget it's solid conductors, even up to 16mm².

Yes, just a bit of manipulation needed. Doesn't have as much spring-back-into-a-circle-ness as SWA.

NYYJ vs SWA bend radius, both 3 × 2.5mm²...

1p is a much tighter radius than the manufacturers state though!

There's no way that what TLC sold as HiTuf ~20 years ago would do that (unless, perhaps, one applied a blow lamp!). How much force did you have to apply to get that bend?
