40, sorry 48 hospitals - where are they

This is my complaint about Johnson - he seems to believe that stating a string of desired outcomes is actually a plan. Any half intelligent person realises it isn't and that planning takes effort and the ability to think in terms of detail. Johnson is fundamentally lazy and is incapable thinking anything through. Hell's teeth - he doesn't even do broad brushstrokes - everything is just sound bites with no thought and no substance with him

The thing that really makes me laugh is that the Tories are STILL blaming Labour for all sorts of issues.

Remind me when Labour left power?

'kin idiots.....

The Royal Papworth is well underway. Harlow is meant to be starting soon but the old one has had add on's recently

The new hospital is going to be just off J7a of the M11. This itself has just opened ahead of schedule. Just had 3 new schools built and two docters surgerys in the last so many years do give it time.

Boris Johnson did an amazing job there….he managed to get the hospital built and opened 6 months before his govt was formed.

The new hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus treated its first patients in May 2019. It was officially opened by the Queen on 9 July 2019

It's still being built. Did Boris not say that?

But that wasn't what Johnson promised - he specifically stated that he would build NEW hospitals (like, for example the new St. Mary's Hospital and Children's Hospital were in Manchester 15 years ago) and in a filmed cabinet meeting stated that these would NOT be refurbs. Refurb work in the NHS estate is constant and never ending.
yeah, that was an election manifesto lie. In fairness, this article is a few years old now, so it could be more than 6 by now ...

If there is one thing the last decade has taught us it is this: whenever you hear Boris Johnson talk, assume he is lying through his teeth.

I am not sure he is capable of telling the truth.

Harlow hospital funding was a policy announcement in Sept 2019, consultation started before Johnson was PM

So Johnson included it in the “40 new hospitals“ manifesto pledge in Dec 2019, despite it being announced in a previous parliament and previous budget.

The Tories, love 'em or hate 'em are currently presiding over the largest increase in NHS spending for a generation. It's not enough, no amount of money in the world will ever be enough, and that has been the case since the 1950's.
