A leader - does he look like one ?

Funny how people react or not to Government actions, fan boys using confirmation bias will come up with an answer-
Some already here others to come :- VAT up by 14.4%, Vehicle licence up, for me 367%, Insurance Premium tax up by 58.3%
8% surcharge on bank profits - that'll end up with the customer no doubt.
Mortgage tax relief for buy to let etc capped at 20%, 10% of rent for wear and tear to be abolished proof of works carried out required.

Hey up the landowners all of whom are farmers - yeah right, are after bigger subsidies, no cuts for the millionaires on benefits.

How many peeps work inside the 'Smoke' area, but live outside, whilst receiving over £6k per annum London weighting??

How many tube drivers are involved ? Or is this a statement about the wages they earn being too high for their skill level ?
Truth? The truth is people at and near the top have become greedy almost beyond belief, there just very little left for the rest some are able to command their fees by dint of their profession - others have to fight for and earn it

When all the pensions pots have been blown on cars, buy to let, kids Uni fees and possibly their future housing, we shall be in a right old pickle.

It was shooting up under the last years of Labour, and after wards, due to the economic crisis, bailing out banks, massively increased unemployment etc. Labour would have borrowed even more had they got in. It won't stop some complaining about Tory 'austerity'.

Appearances are more important to the public than policies and principles about which they know nothing.

Raises the question as to just what people think a PM should look like , the smiling manicured type personified by the likes of Blair and Cameron or the shout everyone down because I'm right type like Churchill and Thatcher or maybe just maybe they might think to look at policies. For what it's worth I tend to think some of our best leaders have been ,shall we say more diminutive characters , Clement Attlee for example and also in some respects Chamberlain who laid the seeds for this countries war effort but worked hard to avoid that war in the first place.
Back to the present and here's some reasons not to vote for Jeremy Corbyn

As you say, appearances matter. Blair was thought to be charming, and yet he suppressed Cabinet debate, preferring government by sofa, whereby he'd sit down with a minister, and tell them what to do. Thatcher respected Cabinet, and allowed far more debate than Blair, despite her reputation for bullying people. Maybe that is why Blair got so little done despite his huge mandate.

Cooper was the mastermind behind the home inspector fiasco that cost thousands of people thousands of pounds only to be dropped like a red hot spud when she finally realised it was crock of sh1t. Everybody else knew if was all along of course (except the former burger flippers flocking to sign up for the six week professional home inspector's courses) but she was about 2 years behind the times. Burnham is just a Blair clone. His 'how to be a labour leader' handbook will be Blair's autobiography. Corbyn is a plain nutter. Us Brits do tend to like nutters mind, which might partly explain his popularity - along with the fact that his policy is basically free beer and sweets for everybody. Don't know much about Kendall but heard her speak on the radio the other day and she actually said a few things that sounded quite sensible. Very un-labour like!

Yes, but Kendall lacks presence does she not? And that is when compared to Cooper and Burnham, which is saying something.

"his policy is basically free beer and sweets for everybody"

That's the best summary of his policy I've seen. Isn't that Socialism?

Some of us like nutters, but do you really see a large enough number of Brits voting for Jeremy Nutjob?

I have a feeling that more and more people are finally seeing sense and realising that a vote for Labour - any of them - is a vote for the ruin of this country.

But he has principles.

I am sure that if he wins the leadership but labour do not win the election (five years away) he will accept the vote; not become a watered down Cameron (there's an image) to gain power for the sake of it.

All the others who are slagging him off are just wanting power regardless of what they may once have believed.

Spot the difference:

I believe xyz. Vote for me if you agree - or not.

I will change my beliefs enough to get your vote.

Seeing Duncan-Smith ranting and cheering with his cronies whilst kicking the working poor put me off the Tories for ever. I'd consider voting for Corbyn, but I will NEVER consider voting for the Eton Boys and their mates in the right wing press that feed the gullible lies to get them voting Tory.

I see Jeremy Corbyn went to a grammar school. Would be so much better had he gone to a secondary modern. (or even failed school altogether) ;);););)

You sound as if there are only those two extremes.
Yet there is a middle ground that many maintain is a 'wasted vote'. I can't understand why. I believe it is our only real hope, but if people aren't willing to take the opportunity they must accept the consequences.
