Comparative twin study: Access to healthcare services in the NHS and the American private insurance system

This is of particular concern because while Americans are assured that they receive the world’s best healthcare, review of health outcomes show Americans’ health often fares comparatively poorly to other high-income countries, despite the US spending significantly more. [3,4] Furthermore, there is mounting evidence that the US healthcare system can bankrupt even well insured individuals. [5]

Anyone who wants a US style system truly doesn't understand what they are asking for.

Could somebody tell Galahad and Notch we're not in the USA.

Yet we want a trade deal with them. You can deny it, but your kids will face the impact of your decisions I hope they are well off enough.

Politically we are.

UK govt is being controlled by US business interests

Brexit think tanks are funded by US abd in exchange get access to Tory ministers.
Thats the reason for brexit -to facilitate that process.
Youve been conned

Cost of having an ambulance in USA:

"I live out in the Country. It is about a 13-mile drive to the nearest hospital. The ambulance bill was more than $6000. I was alert and talking to the EMTs the entire ride. The only medical thing they did for me was put in an IV."

Matt Hancock has received £32,000 in donations from the chairman of the IEA since 2010

Mr Hancock is the recipient of nine donations from Neil Record, chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs which advocates privatisation of the NHS

also: 20% of new Conservative MPs have links with lobbyist firms many of them healthcare.

Conservative MPs will make lots of money from flogging the NHS

So fillyboy if you want to save the NHS, best you get with the programme

Don't think anyone wants a US style system

Unfortunately Tory MPs are keen because they are getting money from US businesses.
We have a cabinet who have vested interests

ideologically, the NHS does not fit with their neo liberal free market model.

What is and will happen under this government is that more and more parts of the NHS will go to private funding. I understand that at the moment that means governments contracts, but it could eventually break the system and then free at the point of service will end.
